J Klippel Logo.jpg

The J.Klippel LLC Logo represents not only the company but is also a peek into Jason Klippel's life. The housing structure is the Bald Head Creek Boathouse; a historic boathouse located at the mouth of the Cape Fear River at Smiths Island, Brunswick County, North Carolina. Built-in 1915 this structure is a staple to the community. To Jason, this boathouse is a symbol of North Carolina, his family, and childhood memories. The boathouse is situated in a peaceful location, sitting on top of wooden pilings, surrounded by salt marshes and nature.

Another key element to the J.Klippel logo are the two Portuguese Water Dogs placed beside "LLC." Jason and his family have three Portuguese Waterdogs currently; River, Tucker, and Hudson. Jason's family has owned 8 of this bread of dog, starting with Riley in 1995.

Portuguese Water Dogs originate from the Portuguese region of the Algarve. The bread then became more popular and was found in neighboring regions all around Portugal's coast. These dogs were used for fishing and would herd fish into fisherman's nets. They could also retrieve lost tackle, broken nets and act as couriers from ship to ship or ship to shore. Rumor has it that Barrack Obama has purchased two Portuguese water dogs, influenced by Teddy Kennedy who also had two.
